If I were to appoint two main themes to describe this working day, I would pick 'temperature' and 'diversity'.

There was a cold wind that you'd easily forget about when it was accompanied by the sun. So, throughout the day, I was continuously either dressed too cold or too warm. The constant temperature changes took up a lot of energy and made me feel very drowsy. This led to me slightly miserably, but mostly as a joke, asking today's dispatch if he felt like cycling my last pharmacy shift. Surprisingly enough, he immediately replied: "Yes!" So there I was - after 8 hours of delivering mail, catering and medication - sitting behind the desk, making the last calls of the day.
Now you could say the weather and the type of cargo is always very determining for your day, but it really isn't always. Sometimes there's just nothing special about either of them, sometimes you're only bothered by the type of cargo because of the physical state of your legs.
Each day has its unique set of circumstances. Different weather, a different mood, different colleagues, a different schedule, all throughout a day filled with different missions. So, even though you might see a lot of similar places (or crates, or boxes, or people) a few days in a row, a day rarely ever 'feels' the same. You never ride the same route twice, and yesterday's problems are 99% of the time just that: yesterday's problems. I think that's one of my favourite things about this job. Every day feels like a new day where everything starts fresh when we roll out of 'the cave' at 8am. I'm looking forward to tomorrow!
