ODCMC'24 🦁🥈

If I'm honest, I wasn't really looking forward to this event because I had had quite a few busy weekends in a row. I felt like I was more in need of a calm few days, and being by myself. Luckily, that feeling changed as soon as I arrived in Zwolle. Great to see so many familiar/favourite faces together: current colleagues, (former) colleagues from different cities, and friends from the international events. Also plenty of new people I hope to keep bumping into in the future!! Still high on happy chemicals 🌞✨️

This was my first time actually finishing a bike messenger race and also the first time I was able to not let other peoples' stress affect my own thinking. All I wanted was to feel better about my performance than I did last time, whcih absolutely went as well as it could have. I was awarded with some nice prizes for winning second place. In all reality it's not that impressive because there were only two participants in the WTNB-category, but to me it meant a lot. Symbolically speaking, that is. The mental gymnastics I've had to do over the years to be able to not get completely overwhelmed by anxiety at the start... definitely deserved a reward. Proud of little me 🐣
