Luckily I was able to cycle for more than 2 hours without breaks again, so the worst of whatever ailed me seemed to have passed.
Around 12:00 I stopped for crisps and water, and although I was happy I managed to complete 58kms by then, I also realised it would still take me an awful lot of time to get to Lausanne. I sent a message in our ECMC-groupchat inquiring if anyone would be able to pick me up, knowing it was a long shot. But hey, if you don't ask, the answer is definitely no!
About the time I almost forgot I sent the message already, and had just started climbing again when Ab suddenly called me. I almost rolled my bike into a ditch and dropped one of my phones while I gladly accepted his offer to join him and his girlfriend in their car to Lausanne.
Of course, I'm pretty disappointed by not being able to finish my route. I absolutely loved the area I just entered and will definitely come back for revanche!! For now I'm just going to be happy about soon being surrounded by the international bikemessenger community again 💖🌞 #messlifeisthebestlife 💁🏻♀️💁🏻♀️
P.S: Ab suggested that a sunstroke might have been what was wrong with me, and that makes an awful lot of sense. Lesson learned. 🫢
