Had to make the last hour (relatively) the fastest in order to keep myself awake π
Off to bed π γγγ

This ride was meant to prove to myself that I could make it to 300, and within the time I want to be cycling daily during RatN.
Mission accomplished!! ππ
I reached 300 around after approximately 16 hours of cycling (active time), and since during RatN I won't be taking picture breaks ánd won't be doing 300 a day... this ride really gave me the confidence I was looking for. Physically and mentally I think I'm ready. Just a couple of things left to buy and adjust.
In the last few rides, a full 100kms with headwind took me 6 hours each time. Which felt incredibly slow, and I initially didn't want to admit that 'that's just what it is'. I thought I could do better. But with this bike, I've now realised that those 6 hours are just what they are. That's something I will have to factor in, while I pray the wind is in my (or all of our) favour(s).
AND mainly keep in mind; As long as you keep pedalling, you'll get there eventually β¨οΈ
Overall this was a great route!! 300% just randomly clicked some things on the map in Komoot, and 300% got very lucky. Plenty of variation between landscapes, and mostly dissimilar villages en route. Actually might do this one again someday. Hopefully a little faster though; this was not my furthest ride so far, but by far the longest (in hours). The last hour was miraculously the fastest, pushing hard and singing loudly, in order to keep myself awake π
LESSONS/IDEAS:
β¨οΈ Let the predicted wind for the next day decide how long I sleep.
β¨οΈ Thoroughly research different types of handlebar accessories, so I have more ways to place my hands (or arms) on the handlebar. ASAP.
β¨οΈ Don't run out of Red Bull π₯Ίγ
