Preps don't prep themselves, so no matter what the circumstances, today was a day meant for cycling. (Or something.) No legs + the weather was absolutely horrendous 50% of the time. Cold wind and hailstorms.

The first 110kms were side-/tailwind, the following 120kms would be headwind. I wasn't too worried about this, until I realised I really had no power to push trhough it. Not sure what's wrong with me, but something is off. The allergy meds seemed to help for a while, yet later on the day it became impossible to get my heartrate over 120 again. Bleeeergh.
Once arrived in Tilburg I was so exhausted I knew I could never cycle all the way back to Utrecht. However, not wanting to give up just yet, I told myself I was at least going to cycle to Breda. Stupid idea? Yes. Do I regret it? No. Otherwise I would not have felt like I tried to get as far is I could.
I was feeling too weak to cycle at least another - given the max. pace I was able to maintain - 5 hours. Sleep has to be a priority too. But mainly I also don't think my legs would have held up π
LESSONS/THINGS I'M HAPPY ABOUT:
β¨οΈ Current system to keep things dry from the rain is working!!
β¨οΈ I (however) have some ideas for bag changes, but I'm not sure yet I want so spend the money.
β¨οΈ More than 300kms a day while maintaining something resembling a sleeping schedule is wishful thinking.
β¨οΈ I didn't give up too easily.
β¨οΈ Bad days are ok, and not useless; I still learned something π
